[8 November 2008] GGOS received proposals for new components: In response to a Call for Proposals published in July 2008 (see the news of 15 July 2008) GGOS received in total three proposals, one for each of the GGOS Bureau on Networks and Communications, the GGOS Bureau on Conventions and Standards, and the GGOS Web Portal. No proposals were received for the GGOS Coordination Office and the GGOS Bureau for Satellite Missions. The three proposals are currently evaluated by an Evaluation Panel, which will give recommendations to the GGOS Steering Committee. It is expected that the Steering Committee will make its selection during the 14-th Meeting of the Steering Committee, which will take place on December 14, 2008 in San Francisco.
