[17 March 2007] GGOS participates in the Preparation of the Minsterial Summit on Earth Observation: The first Ministerial Summit after the establisment of GEO will take place on November 30, 2007 in Cape Town, South Africa. GEO is current preparing the Summit and has established four Task Forces to address several aspect of the Summit. Task Force 2 is preparing a report on the achievements of GEO. IAG and GGOS are represented in this Task Force and will contribute to the preparation of this report. For GEO, the Ministerial Summit is an important milestone for the future development of GEO and GEOSS.
