[26 April 2009] The geodesy-related News feature of Astrocast TV on geodesy and GOCE is widely noted: Astrocast TV recently (on Earth day, see the New Item) launched A Green Space - A Green Earth, a series of monthly news features reporting on events related to Earth observations from space. The first feature on geodesy and GOCE has already been noticed by a number of other news pages and blogs. For example, at astroengine, Ian O'Neill, ESA, writes about the feature: "It’s a captivating show, detailing the history and science behind the study of geodesy" and he continues to concluded that "You may not be familiar with geodesy, but it is critical to advancing our understanding of the planet we live on." Thus, after all, geodesy may be interesting for the wider public, despite the message GGOS-activists often get from the media. Maybe, it just needs an attractive wrapping, such as the feature by Bente Lilja Bye. Thanks to her for doing such a good job in bringing geodesy into the news ...
