The Global Geodetic Observing System (GGOS) of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG) is one of the major elements in the set of global Earth observation systems. It coordinates the geodetic support for Earth sciences and Earth observation, and as such it is a key component of the Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS), which is implemented by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO). Many of the Asian countries are members of GEO, and they contribute to GEOSS. Likewise, many contributions to the infrastructure, observations, and analyses carried out under the umbrella of GGOS originate in Asian countries.
