GGOS 2009 Science Workshop

[16 March 2009] 23-26 June 2009 Joint DynaQlim/GGOS Workshop on Understanding Glacial Isostatic Adjustment. Espoo, Finland.
Sponsors: International Association of Geodesy, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, International Lithosphere Program, Finnish Geodetic Institute, Geological Survey of Finland, University of Helsinki.
Contact: R. Gross, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, 4800 Oak Grove Drive, Pasadena, CA 91109, USA; Tel.: +1-818-354-4010; Fax: +1-818-393-4965; E-mail: Richard.Gross@jpl.nasa.gov; Web site: http://dynaqlim.fgi.fi/files/GGOS_DynaQlim.htm.

The objectives of this workshop are to review the current state of the science in modeling glacial isostatic adjustment, to review the use of geodetic measurements to both constrain and to test GIA models, to identify obstacles to improving GIA models, and to identify improvements to the global geodetic observing system that are required to advance our understanding of glacial isostatic adjustment.
