Some of you were not on the distribution list of that e-mail, therefore, below, we include the text of the mail sent by Markus Rothacher. The purpose of this e-mail is to remind you of the input that was requested in the draft agenda (or more politely: you were invited to submit information) and to inform you how this information (together with other documents that may be relevant) will be made available prior to the retreat for all Members of the GGOS Steering Committee and the invited participants. All relevant documents and input will be placed on a password protected web pages, namely http://geodesy.unr.edu/ggos/sci/ with the user and pw being ggossc and flagship4iag. We will keep this page updated with the last update most likely made on February 10, 2006. Thus, all material provided by then will be included there. I will also bring a off-line version of the web pages to the meeting, so that those who want it can get the latest version there. All input should be sent to the three Chairs of the Steering Committee. Concerning the requested input, please consult the Draft Agenda. For your convenience, here we summarize the input we would like to get from you prior to the retreat: For Topic 6: Vision of GGOS: All (that is the participants and also those who cannot make it) are invited to comment on the vision of GGOS prior to the retreat. The input will be take into account in the preparation of this agenda topic. For Topic 7: Discussion of the Draft ToR: All are invited to comment on their expectation of GGOS, the GGOS structure, and the GGOS products prior to the retreat. This would help in the preparation of the agenda topic. For Topic 10: GGOS Contribution to GEOSS: All, but particularly the representatives of the Services and Commissions, are invited (the latter even requested) to contribute their thoughts concerning the GGOS contribution to GEOSS (and also other organisations such as IGOS-P) prior to the retreat. The representatives of the services should also comment on how they consider to contribute through GGOS to GEOSS. For Topic 11: Steps towards the internal integration process of GGOS: All particants are invited to consider the following questions and to comment on these prior to the retreat in e-mails to the SC Chairs: * What does the component you represent expect from GGOS? * What will the component you represent contribute to GGOS in terms of products and other contributions? * What are the critical points you see concerning GGOS implementation and goals? The representatives of the Services and Commissions are requested to provide a 1-2 page input addressing these three questions. Considering the limited time available at the retreat, it will be very important to have this input from the Services and Commissions prior to the retreat so that we can prepare a summary for the discussion. Please, note that the input we would like to get from you is for the preparation of the agenda topics and the discussions. It is particularly important to hear any concerns you might have with respect to the development of GGOS. For those who can make it: Providing input to the above points offers an opportunity for you to contribute to the Retreat. We are looking forward to hear from you in the next few days.
