[08 February 2010] GGOS Vice-Chair resigns after four and a half years: After the GGOS Retreat and the 17th Meeting of the GGOS Steering Committee, one of the two GGOS Vice-Chairs, Hans-Peter Plag, resigned on February 7, 2010. As reasons, he quoted mounting differences in the GGOS Executive Committee and with the IAG Bureau about the mode of operation, the direction of GGOS, and the extent to which GGOS activities should be integrated into GEOSS, which made productive and goal-oriented cooperation increasingly difficult.
